Giant Hole-in-the-Ground Zero

If you can see past the glare in the window, this is Ground Zero from the 40th floor of WTC 7.

Tiger Ass

If you look closely, you can see the ass of a white Bengal tiger, about dead center. You may also notice matching pants of the handler stage right.

Nerdgasm Addict

I've been working on a commercial with some real celebrities (finally!) and I was able to get a couple of snaps of me on set. It was very exciting. If you could pan this photo back, you'd see about two dozen adult men anxiously waiting for their turn with their cameras.

And while it was great to hob-nob with some 'droids, it was a pleasure to meet George S. Irving, who not only was in the original Broadway production of Oklahoma! . . .

. . . but he was also the voice of one of my favorite animated characters of all time.

Yes, George S. Irving was the voice of the albino Al Sharpton in My Funny MLK Day. No, no, no. He was the one and only, Heatmiser.

Tea House in Sultanahmet

My friends and I hit this tea house in the Arasta Market after visiting the Blue Mosque (background), but it was still daylight, and empty, on account of it being Ramadan. But come nightfall, it packed up full of Turks and tourists, and probably a few Turk tourists as well. A great place for backgammon if there ever was one. Especially if you like being beaten pantsless by an idle waiter. Am I right, Paul?

What is this thing?

A guy was selling these outside the Spice Market, along with three buckets of leeches. He had a box of them, which were all split like bananas, but bumpy like gourds, and full of ruby-red seeds like a pomegranate. What are these dang bananagranate gourds? Should I be punching myself for not getting any?
